Steps for installing terraform on windows machines
Scroll Down and click on windows Icon and choose 32 or 64 bit based on the operating system it downloads a .exe file
Go to desktop and Create folder with anyname for example “helloterraform”
Go to C Drive, create a folder called binaries
Cut the terraform.exe file and place it in binaries Folder
Now under Environmental variables you can see a variable called “path”
Double click on newpath
Click on browse, Go to C Drive .Select Binaries Folder and click ok.
Now Goto desktop
Cd “foldername” in our case cd “helloterraform”
You can see the version of terraform.
Steps for installing Terraform on Linux machines
Download the latest version with the command:
If you find the latest version to be newer than 0.12.24, make sure to substitute the new release number in the wget command.
Install zip with the command:
sudo apt-get install zip -y
Next, unzip the Terraform download with the command:
Finally, move the executable with the command:
sudo mv terraform /usr/local/bin
Test to make sure the installation works with the command:
You should see Terraform v0.12.24 printed out in the terminal window.
